Conflict’s Director of Compliance and Development Roger Bescoby was this week invited to participate in a round table event in Miami, Florida presented by the City of Chicago.

Entitled “World Business Chicago” and hosted by City Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the gathering included business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the US including the former US Ambassador to Singapore.

Conflict International were the only organisation in attendance from the world of security, investigation and risk management so this provided an extraordinary opportunity to network at the highest level.

The meeting heard how household brand US businesses are turning to Chicago in their droves right now, 73 opened new locations in the City in 2021 alone. Meanwhile, VC investment in the City doubled in 2021 while total growth capital investment soared to $9.7bn.

Now now operating throughout various states in the US, we were able to meet and network with decision makers from a truly diverse selection of industries and professions from aviation through to legal and professional sports, including the Chicago Sports Commission – Kara Bachman.
