Conflict International visited Yangon, Myanmar

Meeting ‘Burma’s Lost Royals’

The team at Conflict International can pop up almost anywhere in the world. Business Development Manager Roger Bescoby has been in the Far East where he attended a reception in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon, given in honour of the former Burmese royal family.

Roger presented U Soe Win (pictured centre), the head of the family’s descendants and a huge soccer fan, with a Manchester United shirt personally signed by captain Wayne Rooney. Wayne actually wrote ‘Long live the King’ on the back of the shirt.

U Soe Win would have been King of Burma by birthright today but the family were deposed after the British annexation of the country in 1885.

A documentary entitled ‘Burma’s Lost Royals’ has just finished filming and is due for release in Spring 2017 following the fortunes of the family after recent elections and greater democratic freedoms in Myanmar which have brought new recognition for their royal heritage.

Conflict International operates in many parts of the world advising high profile individuals and celebrities on methods to protect their privacy as well as providing travel risk management and concierge services.
